Description
These chocolate and strawberry jam cakes are super soft and are filled with sweet tangy jam which makes the flavor irresistible.
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 190°C (170° fan)/ 375 F/ gas 5 and oil a 12-hole heart-shaped silicone cupcake mould.
- Combine the flour, sugar, butter, and eggs in a bowl and whisk together for 2 minutes or until smooth.
- Divide half of the mixture between the moulds, then add 1 teaspoon of strawberry jam in the centre of each one.
- Top with the rest of the cake mixture then transfer the tin to the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes.
- Test with a wooden toothpick, if it comes out clean, the cakes are done.
- Transfer the cakes to a wire rack and leave to cool.

- 110g/ 4oz/ 1/2 cup self-raising flour, sifted
- 28g/ 1oz/ 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, sifted
- 110g/ 4oz/ 1/2 cup caster (superfine) sugar
- 110g/ 4oz/ 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 110g/ 4oz/ 1/2 cup strawberry jam (jelly)
