Description
This chocolate and cream cupcakes recipe is perfect for everyone. Every bite is a delightful combination of velvety cream frosting and rich chocolate flavor. These irresistible cupcakes are perfect for celebrations.
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 190°C (170° fan)/ 375 F/ gas 5 and line a 12-hole cupcake tin with paper cases.
- Combine the flour, cocoa, sugar, butter, and eggs in a bowl and whisk together for 2 minutes.
- Divide the mixture between the paper cases, then transfer to the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes.
- Test with a wooden toothpick, if it comes out clean, the cakes are done.
- Transfer the cakes to a wire rack and leave to cool.
- Whisk the cream with icing sugar and vanilla until thick then spoon on top of the cakes.
- Top each cake with a cherry and some chocolate flakes.

- 28g/ 1oz/ 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, sifted
- 110g/ 4oz/ 1/2 cup caster (superfine) sugar
- 110g/ 4oz/ 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 225ml/ 8fl. oz/ 1 cup double cream (To decorate)
- 2 tablespoon icing (confectioners') sugar (To decorate)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (To decorate)
- 12 glace cherries (To decorate)
- chocolate flakes (To decorate)
